Resumen:
A comparative study of mandibles, maxillae and labium among the spcies of Cyrtomon Schoenherr was carried out using SEM. The descriptions of the species were expanded with the characters found. The taxonomy value of these mouth parts was determined. The labium provides the largest number of characters, the most important being the sculpture and concavity of the external surface of the prementon, the development of the keel of the dorsal surface of the prementon, the proportions of articles 1 and 3 of the palpus, and the inclination of the latter. The most valuable character of the maxillae is the presence or absence of one depression on the male. The mandibles do not provide useful characters. Based upon the characters of the labium and maxillae, C. gibber is related to C. inhalatus, C. pistor and C. luridus (gibber group), and C. ovalipennis is close to C. glaucus.
