Resumen:
The selective hydrogenation of alkynes is very important from an academic andindustrial standpoint. Industries such as petrochemical, pharmaceutical andagrochemical use these compounds as raw materials. Typical commercial catalysts forthese reactions contain metals such as palladium. A great challenge is to find cheapercatalysts that are active and selective to be used in the production of alkenes via thepartial hydrogenation of alkynes. That is why the main objective of this work is toprepare monometallic catalysts of low loading of nickel (Ni), palladium (Pd) andtungsten (W) to be evaluated in the partial hydrogenation of 1-heptyne, a highmolecular mass alkyne under mild operating conditions. The catalysts werecharacterized by Inductively Coupled Plasma analysis (ICP), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD),Temperature Programmed Reduction (TPR) and Hydrogen Chemisorptions to identifythe active species. In this work for all prepared catalysts are compared the totalconversion and selectivity to 1-heptene (desired product) at different temperatures todetermine the optimum operating temperature.
