The conference will present a brief history of Chinese migration, the main characteristics of the diaspora in Buenos Aires and the role of migrant associations in the city as an important part of the diasporization process. This will serve as a background to analyze the differentiation of tradying styles between big corporation based in China and small and middled- sized chinese entrepreneurs, the diversity of identities among migrants and the transformation of the meanings of the Chinese New Year Ritual.
