Resumen:
The leaching of supported metallic species has become a hotspot in  the  development  of  heterogeneous  Fenton-like  catalysts. Herein,  highly  stable  catalytic  materials  were  synthetized  by trapping  Cu  and  Fe  species  inside  the  network  of  ordered mesoporous  alumina  (MA)  by  the  Evaporation-Induced  SelfAssembly  (EISA)  methodology. The  potential  synergy  of combining  Fe  and  Cu  species  was  explored  at  different  molar ratios.  The  synthesis  strategy  produced  hierarchical  materials whose  surface  and  structural  properties  resulted  superior  than those  of  conventional  Fenton-like  catalysts,  exhibiting  BET surface areas up to 324 m2/g, a pore volume up to  0.93 m3/g and aligned  cylindrical  pores  of  c.a.  9  nm.  The  performance of  the materials was evaluated in the Catalytic Wet Peroxide Oxidation (CWPO) of sulfamethoxazole  (SMX) carried out in a batch stirred tank  reactor  at:  T  =  40  ºC,  [catalyst]  =  1  g/L,  t  =  180  min  and [SMX] = 20 mg/L.
