Resumen:
EVALUATION OF ESTERASES AND/OR LIPASES PRODUCER Bacillus STRAINS Dib, Julian R.; Pera, Licia M.; Castro, Guillermo R. and Baigorí, Mario D. PROIMI Av. Belgrano y Pje. Caseros, 4000 Tucumán. Esterases and lipases are the most used enzymes in synthetic organic chemistry, catalyzing the hydrolysis of carboxylic acid esters in aqueous medium or the reverse reaction in organic solvents. Materials and methods. Luria-Bertani broth (LB) and LB supplemented with 2% olive oil were used for selection assays. Lipase, esterase and protease measurement were carried out with standard techniques. Protein and esterase zymograms were performed with Coomassie blue and a-naphthyl acetate/fast blue salt B, respectively. Results and conclusions. Three inducible lipases and eight esterase producer strains were selected. Different apparent molecular weight and specific activities were observed. According to lipase, esterase and protease activities as well as PAGE profiles, promising strains showed an interesting catalytic and cultural behavior. These results also provide information about the biodiversity of the samples assayed. This work was supported by grant CABBIO 2000 cod 012
