Resumen:
Streptococcusagalactiae(GBS)isresponsibleforsevereinvasiveinfectionsinneonatesandadultswithorwithoutunderlyingchronicdiseases.Penicillinisthedrugofelectionfortreatment,however,inallergictoβ-lactamspatients,erythromycin(ERI)andclindamycin(CLI)aretherecommendeddrugs.Inthelastyears,increasedmacrolideresistancehasbeenreported.Mechanismsincludechangesintargetsitemediatedbyermgenesleadingtoresistancetomacrolide-lincosamides-streptograminB(MLSB-phenotypeexpressedininducibleorconstitutiveform)ormechanismsbyeffluxencodedbymefgenesleadingtomacrolideresistanceof14-15members(Mphenotype).Theknowledgeofthesephenotypesallowstoadaptthetreatment.
