Resumen:
Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a frequent chronic autoimmune disease. Spondyloarthritis(SpA) is a group of seronegative arthropathies. On the other hand, Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most prevalent joint disease traditionally classified as a non-inflammatory arthritis. The differential diagnosis of arthritic diseases can be difficult. The aim of our study was to analyze C-reactive protein (CRP), the profile of pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines, BAFF and IgA to establish distinctive features in patients with these arthropathies of San Luis city (Argentina). Methods: We studied synovial fluids (SF) of 20 RA, 18 SpA and 14 OA patients. The TNF, IL-6, IL-10, TGF-b levels were determined by ELISA. CRP and IgA were measured by direct agglutination and single radial immunodiffusion, respectively. Results: We found higher frequency of SF with CRP positive in RA (19/20,95%) compared with SpA (8/18, 44%) and OA (3/14, 21%) patients (p
