Resumen:
In recent years when more books on Latin American cinema were published in the United States and Britain. Some of the most notable are: David William Foster's and others (Contemporary Latin American Cinema), Nayibe Bermúdez Barrios' (Latin American Cinemas) and Keith Richards' (Themes in Latin American cinema). Books specifically on Argentine cinema are: Carolina Rocha's (Violence in Argentine literature and film and Masculinities in contemporary Argentine cinema), Joanna Page's (Crisis and capitalism in contemporary Argentine cinema) and Jens Andermann's (New Argentine Cinema). Tomás Crowder-Taraborrelli and Antonio Traverso recently edited a special issue of Latin American Perspectives on political documentary film and video in the Southern Cone. and other colleagues are currently preparing editions of books on Latin American cinema: Argentine Cinema Directory, in the United States, and World Film Locations: Buenos Aires, in England. I have contributed essays to these books. Although studies on Latin American cinema are more active than ever, there are still many filmographies available to research from various academic disciplines. The prolific filmography on ethnographic films is the most notable absence in the field of film studies, not focused on well enough by researchers.
