Resumen:
Metallic monoliths have, in general, even surfaces which hinder the correct adherence of particulate coatings. In the case of aluminum substrata, these can be anodized to obtain an alumina layer of uneven surface in order to improve the interaction with a coating. It was found that the conventional anodization is not enough for the adherence of zeolite crystals. However, by modifying the anodization conditions a high-rugosity alumina layer was obtained which increased the retention capacity of the zeolite coating. The production of stable zeolite coatings upon metallic aluminium supports introduces an alternative in their application in environmental catalysis when high thermal conductivity is required. In this work, these monoliths were evaluated concerning the toluene combustion.
