Due to its scientific and industrial interest, the catalytic partial hydrogenation of acetylenes has been widely studied. Products obtained from these reactions are useful in the synthesis of fine chemicals and biological active compounds. There are a lot of works that deals about hydrogenation of short chain hydrocarbons. The objective of this paper is to study the kinetic of a long chain terminal alkyne, 1-heptyne, over monometallic Ni, W and Pd catalysts.
