Resumen:
Magnetic adsorbents are mainly used for the removal of heavy metals, for separation, destruction and adsorption of oils, dyes and toxic organic compounds, as well as in a wide variety of catalytic processes. The main advantage of magnetic adsorbents is that the adsorbent can be easily removed after adsorption through the use of a simple magnet. In this work, a polylactic acid (PLA)- ethyl lactate (EL) system is used, PLA is derived from renewable resources and is completely biodegradable and biocompatible. On the other hand, EL shows no health risk and is approved by the FDA as an additive in food products, which makes the resulting material completely harmless. It would thus be a completely biodegradable material using green techniques. Magnetite nanoparticles (MNPs) are used as magnetic nanoparticles.
