Resumen:
Crosslinkable polymers are highly demanded in applications where improved thermal, mechanical, and chemical strengths are required. Among crosslinkable polymers, those with film forming capability are of high technological interest, as in coatings and adhesives.1The goal of this work is the synthesis by miniemulsion polymerization of waterborne acrylic-melamine nanocomposites with high solid-content and controlled crosslinkable capability. Therefore, changes in the acrylic polymer microstructure (i.e., variable content of hydroxilic groups and molar mass) and the content of melamine resin (a commercial butylated melamine-formaldehyde resin, MF) is investigated in the light of degree of crosslinking, and consequently, of the final properties of the acrylic-MF cured films.
