Descripción:
OBJETIVEDifferent processes were studied at laboratory scale in order toevaluate its feasibility for industrial wastewaters treatment (containing highchemical oxygen demand (COD) values; higher than 150 ppm). The tested processeswere: oxidation with sodium hypochlorite, advanced oxidation process with UV /hydrogen peroxide and oxidation with ozone. The feasibility of the process wasevaluated according to its capacity to reach discharge COD values required bythe contracting company (COD = 50-75 ppm)GENERAL METHODOLOGYThe study of a process consisted on a set of experimental runs employingspecific equipment such as photoreactors and perfect mixing reactors. For eachtested process, two/three levels of oxidizing agent were used. During each run, samples were taken at different time. The chemical oxygen demand (COD) andtotal organic carbon (TOC) were analyzed in all samples.CONTENTS- Preliminary Assays: Physicochemical Characterization of the IndustrialWastewater Sample.- Feasibility Study for Industrial Wastewaters Treatment using Sodium Hypochlorite.- Feasibility Study for Industrial Wastewaters Treatment employing theUV/H2O2Process.- Feasibility Study for Industrial Wastewaters Treatment employingOzonation Process.
