In addition, they are take an important part of health and pension systems. The development of materials for bone fixing and restoration is critical for the improvement of the life quality of afected persons and to reduce the expenses of health and pension systems. Hydroxyapatite based materials (HA) are one of the most promising research fields in hard tissue engineering. The ideal material must be able the be molded, carved, fastened and in-situ settled during during surgery. It must acquire an intimal bonding to the contours and relief of affected bones restore of the biomechanic function of bones. Further, it must be quickly osteo-integrated and it must provide the key components to promote and accelerate the growing of natural bone. This contribution deals with the synthesis and characterization of semi-crystalline HA. The main goal of the work was to control the crystalline degree of HA varying the formulatioon of the synthesis medium and the precipitation conditions. HA was obtained by precipitation of 0.25 M of Ca(NO3)2.4H2O solution in 30% (NH4)2HPO4 aqueous medium at 30ºC at pH between 7.5 y 10,5. The samples were finely ground and studied using XDR. The spectra were obtained using a Seifert JSO Debyeflex 2002 instrument. The results were compared against femoral human bone obtained from a healthy male adult deceased in 2012. The effect on the crystalline degree of HA of different cations composing the pH compensatory solutions during the precipitation process is particularly detailed.
