Resumen:
Copahue volcano is an active stratovolcano, with a crater filled with an hot-acidic lake, main expression of the magmatic-hydrothermal system. The properties of lake waters will respond to chemical and physical changes in the subsurface hydrothermal or magmatic system. Significant seismic activity at the beginning of 2004 was registered. After these events, several surface manifestations were recognized: temperature decreased on crater lake, compositional changes of springs and surface deformation on the northeastern flank of the volcanic edifice. In this work, a relationship between ground deformation, seismic activity and geochemical variations is established.
