Chitosan is a versatile natural polyssacharide that offers enormous possibilities because of its chemical structure, functionality and biodegradability. We will present results on the formation of bioactive complexes with anionic polyacrylic systems bearing 4-aminosalicylic residues, as well as the preparation and application of films of complexes of chitosan with poly(vinyl alcohol) and chitosan lactate, applied as dermal membranes for regeneration of epithelial tissue in rats.
