Resumen:
Photothermal therapy (PTT) is gaining increasing interest as an alternative to conventional therapies due to its specific therapeutic efficacy and non-invasiveness. PTT utilizes photothermal agents that can absorb radiation in the near-infrared (NIR) region and convert the absorbed energy into heat through a non-radiative mechanism. Consequently, nanomaterials with high absorption in the NIR region of the electromagnetic spectrum are required for effective PTT [1,2]. This work aims to obtain and characterize electroactive composites by incorporating multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) into the polyurethane with the purpose to investigate the photothermal responsiveness of the composites when exposed to NIR light.
