Resumen:
Theprofile of the longitudinal development of showers produced byultra-highenergy cosmic rays carries information related to theinteraction properties of the primaryparticles with atmosphericnuclei. In this work, we present the first measurement of theaverageshower profile in traversed atmospheric depth at the Pierre AugerObservatory. Theshapes of profiles are well reproduced by theGaisser-Hillas parametrization within the rangestudied, forE >1017.8eV.A detailed analysis of the systematic uncertainties is performedusing10 years of data and a full detector simulation. The average shape isquantified usingtwo variables related to the width and asymmetry ofthe profile, and the results are comparedwith predictions of hadronicinteraction models for different primary particles.p { margin-bottom: 0.1in; line-height: 115%; background: transparent }
