Being a distributed sensor instrument, like the Pierre Auger Observatory (PAO), the AMIGA[2] project heavily relies on a communication system to coordinate it´s components and carry the collected data for processing. Unfortunately, the PAO existing communication system can´t be scaled to include AMIGA. A new, parallel wireless network, using standard 802.11 technology[4] is proposed. In order to have a correct function-ng of the network, several factors must be taken into account to minimize response time and bit rate problems, as well as assuring reliability.
