Resumen:
The potential applications of azobenzene containingpolymers include optical information storage andprocessing, photoswitching, diffractive optics, andphotomechanics. The photo-orientation efficiency ofthe material system depends delicately on factors suchas the structure of the azobenzene moiety, type ofbonding to the polymer as well as intermolecularinteractions, and cooperative motions of theazobenzene moieties1.In this work, the reversible trans/cis isomerisation byUV and visible light in the azobenzene-polymer thinfilms was investigated using UV/Vis spectroscopy. Wehave selected a phenol functionalized chromophoreand P4VP, both attached by means of H bondinteractions developed between phenol and pyridinegroups.
