Resumen:
Economic actors have not been held accountable for complicity in the human rights violations of authoritarian regimes and in armed conflict. Or have they? Using an original data base of accountability efforts, this book explores where economic actors have been held accountable from the Holocaust era to the present, in truth commissions and judicial actions in every region of the world. The study explains that civil society actors? demand for justice, truth, reparations, and guarantees of non-recurrence has occurred where institutional innovators have been able to overcome the strong veto players within the business community attempting to avoid accountability. These innovators have met some success even in the current environment of weak and unsettled international law regarding business and human rights. Because of the importance of domestic actors and processes, and the absence of robust international efforts, the book refers to the success as ?accountability from below.? The authors identify particular sets of effective tools in the hands of weak domestic actors that can be adapted to different country contexts and that have the potential of raising global accountability efforts, a kind of Archimedes Lever.https://www.cambridge.org/ar/academic/subjects/law/human-rights/transitional-justice-and-corporate-accountability-below-deploying-archimedes-lever?format=HB....................................................................................................Orden de autores/as: en primer término la autora con mayor experiencia y quien lidera el proyecto, luego autores/as en orden de relevancia por contribución al trabajo
