Resumen:
Intestine-joint axis in Spondyloarthritis: role of the microbiota Di Genaro María SilviaSpondyloarthritis (SpA) is a group of inflammatory diseases that includes axial SpA, and peripheral arthritis such as psoriatic arthritis, reactive arthritis, enteropathic arthritis and undifferentiated SpA. The collection of bacteria that colonize the gastrointestinal tract is called the intestinal microbiota. Recent observations suggest a causal relationship between the microbiota and arthritis. Of note, nucleic acid from gut flora bacteria has been detected in synovial fluids and tissues of patients with rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis. However, few studies have focused on investigating components of the microbiota in the synovial microenvironment of SpA. In our project, we propose to study microbiota components in the synovial fluid of patients with peripheral SpA by metagenomic and proteomic analysis.
