ABSTRACTESTIMATION OF SODIUM SULPHATE RESOURCES IN SALAR DE POZUELOS (PUNASALTEÑA, ARGENTINA). The salt flats of the Argentine Puna contains clastic and evaporiticfacies, both on the surface and in depth. The most characteristic evapofacies is sodium chloride(halite) that allows differentiating between mature (crystalline) and immature (earthy) salt flats. Otherevapofacies are gypsum and borates. Sodium sulfate (mirabilite-thenardite) is found in superficialdeposits (Río Grande and Pocitos salars) and in deep facies (Pozuelos salar). The estimatedcalculation of resources in the deep Na-sulfatiferous evapofacies of the Pozuelos salar is released.
