New techniques for pointed Hopf algebras

Let G be a finite non-abelian group.In this talk we will present new techniques that allow to decide when a Nichols algebra, associated with a conjugacy class of G and an irreducible representation of the centralizer of an fixed element of G, is infinite dimensional.We will give some applications to the symmetric and alternating groups.
