Resumen:
La Plata Basin has very flat regions, so the water moves very slowly on the ground. This generates floods in: 1) Rural Areas with impact on different agricultural activities and small towns.2) Urban areas impact on a large population and in many cases socially vulnerable. There is a database of impacts in Argentina between 1970-2020, with more than 13,000 local records. This allows identifying multiple threats from a specific impact: extreme rain, intense winds, flood, heat waves, cold waves, snowfall, etc. We present three examples to show the multiplicity of atmospheric situacitions that lead to impacts in Argentina: 2013. Agricultural drought emergency in the Chaco Province and urban floods at the same time. 2017. Floods in eastern Chaco due to intense local rains. 2018. Floods in small urban basins of the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area. The sum of non-extreme precipitation events causes flooding
