In thefollowing pages we will first debate the question of whether China is part ofthe semi-periphery that has become a center, or if it has come to be aquasi-center. We will put this debate into dialogue with the Latin America MDTtradition and use the concept of sub-imperialism to complement the debate.After this, we will provide evidence of the actual nature of China?sparticipation in Latin and South America, concentrating in the particular caseof Argentina.
