Resumen:
We describe the first case of feline sporotrichosis that occurred outside the epizootic area of Buenos Aires province, Argentina, caused by Sporothrix globosa, in which in contrast to cases reported with Sporothrix brasiliensis, there were no clinical and serological evidence of zoonotic transmission by scratches and bites from the sick cat to the veterinarian and the individual responsible for its care. This report aimed to improve the knowledge about the pathogenic profile of S. globosa.
