Resumen:
From the environmental point of view, it is very important to determine the characteristics of the waste produced in industrial processes, whatever the final destination to be given: either reuse as structural permeable fill, material to elevate low land or to improve surface properties of rural roads, as raw material for other processes such as the production of construction materials, or simply their disposal in deposits. In this paper several wastes from metallurgical processes are studied from the point of view of its environmental suitability for reuse in any of the above uses: white powders of kilns of calcination, red powders generated in processes of acid pickling, powders of aspiration of electrical furnaces, foundry sand and blast furnace sludge. All these wastes are granular materials and have been characterized by different techniques. From the obtained results, it can be concluded that, from the point of view of the environmental suitability, the studied wastes can be reused in some of the different mentioned applications.
