Resumen:
This study focused on the recycling of Ground Tire Rubber (GTR) byincorporating it in a thermoset resin. Thus, WTR was grinded intopowder and microwave electromagnetic energy was used todevulcanize this powder. The influence of the treatment microwaveenergy on the devulcanization ratio was investigated. FTIR andswelling analyses showed that the microwave treatment can lead toa very significant degree of devulcanization. The Ground Tire Rubber(GTR) and the Devulcanized Ground Tire Rubber (DGTR) were thenseparately used to prepare epoxy based composites. It mainlyappeared that epoxy composites filled with DGTR have bettermechanical properties than those filled with untreated GTR.
