Resumen:
The State was active in promoting and sustaining the sector since the origins of viticulture in Argentina. However, the unification of internal taxes and the creation of the Wine Regulatory Board in 1934 were two particular measures designed to mitigate the effects of the economic crisis of 1930. But it was also an oligarchic agreement that allowed the establishment of broad political concessions. This paper presents a comprehensive overview of government action on the subject and the role played by different social actors in the context of fraudulent government. In particular, the work explores the political reasons that gave rise to such measures. From the analysis of legislative sources and the newspapers of the time a more complex vision is presented on the role that economic history gave to these measures. Thus, unification of tax and the creation of the Regulatory Board are seen as part of an economic agreement that favored a sector of the provincial oligarchy but which, at the same time, was framed in a political project that integrates the local elite to New national political-economic model that begins with the crisis of 1930.
