Resumen:
Anthropology as a discipline has historically been concerned with addressing identity andotherness, tensions and conflicts between various socio-cultural groups. In this sense, touristization processes were gradually incorporated into anthropological fieldwork or asa line of research. Through this presentation we propose to share some theoreticalmethodological reflections and a state of the art -preliminary- about the contributions ofanthropology to tourism studies in Argentina in recent years. We have carried out thisresearch effort since the formation of RIAnT (Network of Researchers in Anthropologyand Tourism). As conclusions, we observe that in Argentina tourism is not consolidatedor legitimized as an object of study of anthropology as occurs in other disciplines such asgeography. The research teams that generally address tourism do not present it as aproblem or primary objective of the projects but rather as problems that they identify andaddress to the extent that it serves to explain other tensions and conflicts expressed in thesocio-cultural groups under study. At the same time, there are not many anthropological articles on tourism in Argentine anthropology journals, the same thing happens at nationalconference tables.
