The distribution, availability and accessibility of the current lithic resources allow us to evaluate and analyze the lithic record. The way the lithics resources are presented in the environment has implications in the use of the raw material and in the acquirement strategies employed by the people that occupied this region. This paper presents, in a regional scale, the methodology used and the data collected in the work field, at primary and secondary sources of high and arid environments of southern Mendoza. The obtained information allows us to generate a lithic resource structure of southern Mendoza and had a better acknowledgment of the strategies that ancient people used in this region in the late Holocene.
