Resumen:
Leaf-cutting ants are among the major pests in forest plantations in the province of Misiones. Although traditionally morphological characters are used to identify insect pests, this analysis could be hampered by the lack of complete and updated databases of taxonomic data. The aim of this study was to identify morphologically and molecularly leaf-cutting ants that affect forest plantations in the province of Misiones. It was possible to extract DNA from leaf-cutting ants of Atta and Acromyrmex genera and identify them molecularly.
