Prediction of molybdenum concentration profiles was performed by means of a theoretical model of diffusive impregnation in an attempt to find conditions of preparation that would lead to obtain catalysts with the molybdenum contents required for hidrodesulfurization catalysts. Modification of those concentration profiles due to redistribution of the impregnated component as a consequence of diffusion towards the center of the sphere during the drying step is shown.
