The Food and Agriculture Organization promotes the application of the ‘One Health’ concept as part of the transformation of the agri-food system in favor of the health of plants, animals, people, and environment. Ensuring the ‘One Health’ approach is essential to make progress toward anticipating, preventing, detecting, and controlling diseases that spread between animals and humans, ensuring food safety, preventing environmental threats to human and animal health, and tackling other challenges. The adoption of the ‘One Health’ perspective is also of great importance to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
