Resumen:
The videogames are frequently used in educational contexts becauseimprove in the students their motivational levels and learning performances. There is a belief that to develop adaptive videogames according to individualcharacteristics of each student could generate positive effects on the learningand gaming experience. The goal of this paper is to elaborate an initial study ofthe literature about the adaptive educative videogames. Three digital librarieswere queried (ACM Digital Library, IEEE Xplore Digital Library, and ScienceDirect), 40 studies were collected, and 13 studies were described and analyzed.Four research questions were elaborated and answered. The results show thatthere are several concrete initiatives of adaptive video games developed toimprove different students´ competences or skills, such as attention, memory, reasoning, etc. In addition, most of the videogames involve some kind ofexperimentation with real students. Based on this study, an adaptive andcollaborative educational videogame is being designed to be used by students ofenvironmental careers.
