The analysis of vitreous material in historical sites has increased considerably in recent years. They provide meaningful data on different aspects of both the consumption of beverages and the marketing channels and beverage containers from societies in the past. This paper presents an analysis of the remains of vitreous beverage containers recovered from the "JMR" site. The site is a domestic rubbish dump from the midnineteenth century (1840 decade), from a residence located in the historic site of the city of Rosario. The analysis took into account the attributes related to the containers? chronology allocation, such as finishes and closures, the base and the colors, because the different manufacturing techniques and tools used over the time left their print in these parts of the bottles. Types of beverages contained by these bottles, alcoholic or not, were also determined, in order to provide an overview of beverage consumption of who generated this dump.
