Resumen:
Dynamic non isothermal modeling was performed at pellet and reactor scale to describe the catalytic wet air oxidation of phenol over activated carbon conducted in a trickle-bed reactor (TBR) under gas feed composition modulation. The developed transport-adsorption-reaction model was validated against experimental temperature and conversion data. The incorporation of non-isothermal kinetics and the time on stream decay of adsorption capacity (due to pore blocking) and carbon weight (due to slow carbon burn off) in the mathematical equations was required to improve the model predictions of steady state and dynamic reactor operation.
