Effect of the cycling parameters on the liquid holdup modulation along a TBR under periodic operation

This contribution aims at studying the effect of modulating the liquid velocitywith an ON-OFF strategy on the time evolution of approximate liquid holdup profiles along acolumn packed with 3 mm spheres of porous ã -Al2O3. To further analyze the differencesbetween slow and fast liquid flow modulation and to formulate hypothesis for describing thehydrodynamics with modeling purposes, a large range of cycling parameters (cycling periodsand splits) is covered.
