Resumen:
From the beginning of the XXI century, a gradual transformation has taken place in environmental politics in buffer areas of Protected Natural Areas in Argentina. This new politics is based on the creation of spaces for active participation, empowering both indigenous and non-indigenous rural inhabitants to exercise their rights and act upon their responsibilities. In this way these populations are increasingly integrated into a political community, giving them the status of citizenship.
