Recent advances in biotechnology for tree conservation and management Proceedings of an IFS Workshop, Florianopolis, Brazil, 15-19 September 1997: 180-197 Composites made from a styrene crosslinked unsaturated polyester resin and vegetable fillers were prepared. Woodflour prepared from Eucalyptus saligna sawdust (a fraction of fine sawdust particles of 57-74 micro m), was tested as a filler. The particles were modified by a simple alkaline treatment (NaOH) or by further chemical treatment with maleic anhydride (MAN).
