The importance derivesfrom the versatility of polyurethanes in general and the ecological advantage of being dispersed in acqueous media. In this work,biobased formulations are used: in one of them, the polyol is castor oil (CO), while in the other one, the macrodiol is apolycaprolactone diol (PCL), and in both cases the internal emulsifier is tartaric acid (TA), a byproduct of the winery industry. Usinga simple blending technique, films were produced with different final properties dinamico-mechanical and optical that affected alsothe handling characteristics of the materials. Techniques such as FTIR, DSC, TGA, and contact angle were used in thecharacterization of the materials.
