Resumen:
The aim of this communication is to present the results of archaeological surveys carried out in the central strip of the main island of the Fuegian Archipelago. The central sector of Tierra del Fuego is a mountainous and woody environment, characterized by the development of the sub-Antarctic forest, as well as by various microenvironments with different resources. We present the results of surveys developed in different sectors of the area to understand the use of this landscape, as well as the management of biotic and abiotic resources by the hunter gatherer societies which inhabited in the area, known as Selknam (in historical times) and pre-Selknam.
