Resumen:
K-doped Li2ZrO3 based sorbents for CO2 capture at high temperature were synthesized using 16, 25, 35, and45 % molar excess of ZrO2. The presence of t-Li2ZrO3 y m-ZrO2 phases was confirmed through XRD analysis. Moreover, the Li2ZrO3/ZrO2 intensity ratio, calculated from the main XRD peaks decreased in the sampleswith higher zirconia excess. However, the samples with higher ZrO2 contents increased their capture capacityat lower reaction times (30 minutes), which could indicate a promoting effect of ZrO2 in the reactivity ofLi2ZrO3 species. Therefore, from the nominal composition of KLiZr-e, bifunctional catalysts for sorptionenhances steam reforming of ethanol were synthesized by replacing 5% p/p of ZrO2 by NiO. The solids wereprepared using the same nominal composition and synthesis route, though employing different sets ofprecursors. Raman and XRD experiments confirmed the presence of Li2ZrO3 and NiO phases. The sorptionproperties were evaluated a 500 ºC during 60 minutes using different feedings (50 and 15% CO2; 0, 10, and20% H2O). Both samples presented similar capture properties, though differences in the catalytic activity werenoticed, which could be related with differences in the material structure observed in the XRD patterns andSEM micrographs. The obtained results can provide a basis for the development of new bifunctional materialsfor the sorption enhanced seam ethanol reforming.
