Low-Field NMR insight analysis of alginate-clay capsules loaded with Laurus nobilis essential oil.

Essential oil encapsulation can be carried out via a multitude of techniques, depending on applications. In this work, we employed hybrid capsules composed of sodium alginate and a laminar clay as montmorillonite as a carrier for Laurus nobilis essential oil. To assess the encapsulation efficiency and subsequent oil release, we employed low-field NMR techniques. These techniques facilitated a comprehensive exploration of the molecular interactions within the polymer, clay, and essential oil.
