Resumen:
Sporotrichosis is a subcutaneous mycosis that, classically, is associated withtraumatic inoculation of the fungus, Sporothrix schenckii, on the skin. However, since the 1990s, in Brazil, outbreaks of the disease by zoonotic transmission have occurred, mainly involvingdomestic cats. As of this time, the epidemic of the disease has grown throughout Brazil, reaching even the Northeast region. This work aimed to evaluate the scientific production onthe spread of sporotrichosis in Brazil and in the Northeast. This is a bibliographic, descriptive, integrative review type study, with a search for articles between the months of August and September 2019, in the LILACS and MEDLINE databases, through the BVS and SciELO, using the descriptors in Sciences Health Sporotrichosis, Cats and Brazil. Of the eighty-ninearticles retrieved, sixteen studies were included, published between 2001 and 2019. The publications included were aimed at analyzing, describing and reporting on the spread of sporotrichosis by zoonotic transmission in Brazil and in some state in the northeast of Brazil. It is evident that sporotrichosis is a disease that is present throughout the national territory, although the low amount of information on sporotrichosis cases in northeastern Brazil is noticeable.
