Resumen:
Meteorological parameters and water content in the soil at 8 different depths were measured during one year in two plots of land located at the bottom of two gullies at a distance of 130 m, one is fitted out of Jessour (singular Jesr) and the other one is without Jessour, in order to quantify the impacts of these hydro-agricultural constructions on the water balance. These field measurements show that only 3 major rainy events (> 20 mm) lead to a significant increase of water content in the soil up to a depth of at least 125 cm. For these 3 events, this increase was fast and pronounced up to 125 cm in the plot of land with a Jesr, while a similar increase was only measured for one short rainy event in August 2018 in the plot without Jesr. For the two other longer rainy events in November and December 2017, the increase of water content in the soil was much slower and smaller in the plot without Jesr beyond a depth of 35 cm. Jessour appear to have different impacts on the water balance in thesoils according to seasons.
