Irrigation water volumes distributed to the Montana vineyard were directly and continuously monitored during the 2015 irrigation season, using a flow meter sensor. This method produced daily temporal series of irrigation for a whole vineyard, without using indirect measurements or approximations. The irrigationwater distribution time series was then compared to climatological data (rainfall and temperature) during the same period. This illustrates the climatic factors influencing irrigation water demands, as well as other factors, such as the water management strategy and winemakers? irrigation practices.
