Resumen:
The surface evapotranspiration (ET) is the most relevant hydrological variable in Subhumid-Humid Pampas, Argentina, where about 85% of precipitation is lostthrough this process (Rivas et al., 2002). In order to evaluate the MOD16_A2 ET product, data from the Terra/MODIS sensor were compared to ground measurements. Actual evapotranspiration (AET) was tested using data from a lysimeter located in a cropland area of Tandil (37º19?7??S-59º4?42??W ? 200 masl - Buenos Aires province) (Fig. 1), whereas data measured by the ?Oficina de Riesgo Agropecuario (ORA) of the Ministerio de Agroindustria de la Nación Argentina? was used for the assessment of the potential evapotranspiration (PET). Ground stations were located in Azul (36°29?60?S-59°31?48?W - 147 masl) , Pigüé (37°21?36?S-62°13?48?W ? 304 masl), Bolívar (36°7?15?S-61°2?24?W ? 94 masl), Junín (34°19?48?S-60°33?W ? 81 masl - Buenos Aires province) and General Pico (35°25?14?S-63°27?2?W ? 145 masl - La Pampa province) (Fig. 1). Data from 2012 to 2013 was used in this project. A quantitative analysis of the comparison was carried out.
