In the management context the decision making process isbased on epidemiological data from a population. This makesthe data quality process of the clinical registry a critical task in modern health systems. We decided to analyze the variabil-ity in the secondary coding process of the problems originated by the assistant physicians with the purpose of measuring thequality of this process and develop an automated coding sys-tem based on the similarity of the previous text problems. We found that the variability index allows us to perform a qualityanalysis of a dataset in a quick and inexpensive manner
